In Thai, “sabai sabai” loosely translates to a state of relaxation, comfort, and calm—exactly what this drink delivers. Often referred to as Thailand’s official welcome cocktail, Sabai Sabai captures the bright, zesty, and herbaceous spirit of the nation.

How to make it?
Ingredients:
- 45 ml Mekhong (Thai spirit made from sugarcane and rice)
- 30 ml fresh lemon juice
- 15 ml simple syrup
- 2 Thai basil leaves
- Club soda
Method:
Gently muddle Thai basil in a shaker.
Add Mekhong, lemon juice, and syrup, then shake well with ice.
Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice and top with club soda.
Garnish with a basil leaf.
Its light, sparkling nature makes it perfect for Southeast Asia’s climate, and it pairs beautifully with spicy foods and seafood, both staples in the region.
