Ron Zacapa, the popular Guatemalan premium rum, which made its debut in Singapore last December, recently held a master class for connoisseurs at the Intercontinental, Singapore. The event was organized by Diageo and the ‘Rum Cartel’ and was conducted by it’s Master Blender Lorena Vasquez, who gave a peek into what makes the ‘rum aged-above the clouds’.
The event spotlighted two flagship expression, Zacapa XO and Zacapa No. 2, each reflecting Zacapa’s craftsmanship and terroir. What makes these rums special are its signature solera aging process, use of virgin sugarcane honey, and high-altitude maturation.
The rum is marketed and distributed by Diageo and this event was organized along with Rum Cartel, which is founded by a group of spirit connoisseurs and enthusiasts based in Asia. Their idea is to promote the discovery and appreciation of fine and rare rums among its members-only community.
Master Blender Lorena Vasquez was also joined by Mitch Wilson, Global Ambassador of Black Tot Rum; Aude Morvany, Co-Founder of Bar madame Singapore; Frederic Langlois Founder of Rum Cartel; Jessica Maria Lopex Pina, Ambassador of The Bolivarien Republic of Venezuela to Singapore; Sebastian Breton, Ambassador of Panama to Singapore; Andreas Kraemer, General Manager of Intercontinental Singapore; and Maylis Berger, Regional Manager at Maison Ferrand, for an evening of ‘immersive experience’.
