- Ranked 2nd as ‘Singapore’s Best Employers’
- Supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
In a rapidly evolving world of work, where employee expectations and workplace dynamics are constantly shifting, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) remains steadfast in its commitment to building a workplace that puts our people first. This year, APBS has once again been recognised as one of Singapore’s Best Employers, proudly rising to 2nd place in the 2025 list by The Straits Times and Statista, up from 3rd place last year. The company has also retained its Great Place to Work Certification for the third consecutive year.
“A great workplace is not built from the top down but shaped together by its people. At APBS, every employee is empowered to turn ideas into action and make a meaningful impact. Our people do not just live out the company’s values, they bring them to life through ground-up initiatives that resonate most with our team. This shared sense of empowerment is what shapes APBS into a Great Place to Work, year after year, where every voice truly makes a difference,” a press release said.

Sustainability Initiatives
In celebration of World Environment Day 2024, APBS launched a “Race to Reduce” Ideathon, where employees from various functions came together as one team to brainstorm ideas on how to actively contribute to sustainability goals. This ground-up initiative led to several eco-friendly improvements in the workplace, including a returnable lunchbox system in the canteen, water-saving taps in the toilets, and a closed-loop recycling process for event materials to reduce waste.
Building on this successful pilot, APBS has set a new challenge this year to find ways to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a company and make a real impact communities.
Improving Workplace Amenities Together
“In addition to our comprehensive suite of workplace amenities, which include a fully equipped gym, a yoga studio, and the signature Tavern bar offering a complimentary selection of beers, we actively listen to our employees’ feedback and invest in initiatives that matter most to them. One example of this is the creation of a new recreation space within our office, designed and championed by our employees. This people-led project features new facilities for badminton, table tennis, and wellness activities, providing a much-needed area for staff to recharge, reconnect and prioritise their wellbeing,” it said.
Making Mental Health a Priority
APBS takes a holistic view of wellbeing, recognising mental health as equally important as physical health. With management support, the employees have led ground-up initiatives to create safe spaces for open conversations and connection — from Muay Thai classes and ‘human library’ sessions to creative workshops like ceramics and leathercraft. These efforts have helped normalise mental health conversations across the workplace.
To ensure ongoing support, APBS has also partnered with mental health experts to provide a 24/7 on-demand support app, giving employees easy and confidential access to care whenever they need it.
Shaun Ee, Cluster Head of People at The HEINEKEN Company (Singapore and Myanmar), said, “These workplace recognitions belong to our people, who are a source of inspiration in the way they consistently go above and beyond in their roles and look out for one another as a team. Our people continue to challenge the status quo and reimagine what a great workplace can look like in today’s climate of evolving workforce expectations. From driving our business ambitions to championing mental well-being and sparking sustainability ideas, their motivation to shape our workplace is what sustains our standing as a top employer and enables us to grow stronger together, year after year.”
