The Warehouse Lobby Bar Crafts a Timeline of Singapore in Cocktails

The Warehouse Lobby Bar has introduced a new cocktail menu inspired by Singapore’s evolving cultural and social landscape. Spanning eight decades from the 1890s to the 2000s, each cocktail represents a key moment in the city’s history through a classic and a contemporary interpretation.

The journey begins in the 1890s with Reverse Trade, a twist on the Martini that pairs house-made gin with Shaoxing wine and sherry to highlight Singapore’s trading roots. The 1910s feature the iconic Singapore Sling alongside Tongkang Drift, which blends sherry, Lillet Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Thai basil, and jambu to reflect the bustling river trade era.

In the 1930s, The 36 Oaths reimagines the Rusty Nail using mezcal and a house-made amaro infused with 36 local ingredients, nodding to the city’s secret societies. The 1970s are captured in Tides of Two, a clarified Midori Sour with bourbon, pandan, and lemon that celebrates cultural exchange between Japan and Singapore.

The 1980s-inspired Pink Pepper Club revamps the Espresso Martini with rye whiskey, black garlic, and coconut foam, reflecting the vibrancy of The Warehouse Discotheque. The timeline concludes in the 2000s with Golden Canopy, which combines shochu, mango, and lime, symbolising Singapore’s balance between urban life and natural heritage.

This new menu goes beyond flavour, functioning as a timeline told through taste, one that intertwines Singapore’s history, heritage, and cultural influences with modern mixology. Each cocktail reflects an era’s spirit, bridging the city’s transformation from trading port to modern metropolis. Through this thoughtfully curated selection, The Warehouse Lobby Bar offers guests a chance to experience Singapore’s journey.
